Why Pregnant Women Can not Heat?

Pregnant mothers need to be special. In addition to adequate nutritional intake, pregnant women can not be exposed to hot temperatures. Research carried out scientists from Queensland University of Technology have found that rising temperatures increase the level of stillborn infants and infants born prematurely.

Professor Adrian Barnett of the Institute for Health and biomedical innovation at the Queensland University of Technology leading a research to see incidents of premature births and stillbirths in Brisbane for four years from 2005.

From a total of 101,870 total births, has a record 653 or 0.6% of stillborn babies.

Research Professor Barnett recorded weekly temperature, humidity and air pollution levels for each pregnancy. He said the lowest risk was in the weeks best air, and warm temperatures of 23 degrees Celsius weekly either dangerous to the hottest weeks.

Other studies have seen the relationship between temperature and premature birth. Research by Queensland University of Technology is the first time to investigate the relationship between temperature and stillbirths.

"We found that the increase in temperature increases the risk of stillborn baby, especially during the early stages of pregnancy before 28 weeks. We estimate the temperature of 15 degrees C, will have 353 babies died per 100,000 pregnancies, compared with 610 babies born dead per 100,000 pregnancies in temperature 23 degrees C, "said Professor Adrian Barnett.

"Rising temperatures also shorten the time of pregnancy. That is, the more premature babies often have long-term serious health disorders such as cerebral palsy and vision and hearing disorders," added Professor Adrian Barnett as reported by sciencealert.com, Monday (19/12/2011) .

Professor Barnett said that because of rising global temperatures, this research could have serious implications for public health.

"Pregnant women should protect themselves from the heat to reduce the possibility of premature birth or stillbirth. It is known that women should avoid hot tubs or Jacuzzi during pregnancy because it can cause miscarriage and dehydration due to heat and sweating can be harmful to the fetus and affect the birth, "said Professor Barnett.
